FCC Wranglers - Songs of the West

This is a collection of western favorites which we have shared on several occasions over the years with audiences at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Colorado Springs.

We dedicate this recording to Georg Gehrung, a member of our quartet, whom we lost in 2024. We are fortunate to have his voice on a number of these songs as we had begun recording prior to his illness and passing.

While we enjoy sharing these songs of cattle drives and campfires and the many noble legends of the west, it is not our intent to glorify the westward expansion of our continent, nor do we overlook the fact that indigenous communities were displaced and the land which was their home occupied, often with severe and tragic consequences. Therefore, we wish to express our deep and sincere respect toward those indigenous communities.
