1 C black turtle beans 1 C (raw) brown rice 28oz can whole stewed tomatoes 1 onion + garlic 1 can chopped green chilis 1/4 C red wine 1 Tbl chili powder 2 tsp cumin 1 tsp saltSoak black beans 4 hours or overnight.
Variations:
Use canned black beans.
Add an ear of corn or a chopped green pepper.
Use chicken or vegetable broth when cooking the rice instead of water.
Use tomatoes w/ basil.
